Amhráin agus scéalta ó oileán Ruhnu san Eastóin.

Le linn an tarna cogadh domhanda, bhí ar phobal oileán Ruhnu, 300 chéad duine a mhair ann, a mbaile a thréigint toisc gur ghlac arm na Sóibhéide seilbh ar an oileán . D’fhág a n-amhráin, a scéalta agus a gceol leo, agus cailleadh iad ar feadh i bhfad. Ach, tar éis dian thaigdhe, tá athbheochan déanta ar cheol, scéalta agus amhráin Ruhnu, agus beidh siad á gcur i láthair ag na ceoltóirí agus an scéalaí ón lá inniu, a rinne an taighde. Beidh a gceolchoirm ar siúl in Ionad an Bhlascaoid, Ionad a chaomhnaíonn agus a chuthaíonn cultúr Na Blascaodaí, oileán amach ó chósta Chorca Dhuibhne.

During the second world war, the 300 strong population of Ruhnu Island off Estonia had to desert their island due to occupation by the Soviet Army. The people were scattered all over Sweden, and with them went their traditions, their stories, their music and their songs. Their culture was almost lost, but, due to the research of our visiting storyteller and musicians from Estonia, the culture of Ruhnu is now alive and well and is growing in strength.  The concert will be held in the Blasket Island Centre, a centre dedicated to preserving the culture of the Blasket Islands in west Kerry.
