European flavour to Scoil Cheoil an Earraigh 2013 .

There will be a definite European flavour to Scoil Cheoil an Earraigh 2013 with musicians and performers from Gallicia, Norway, Sweden and Estonia joining traditional musicians and singers from the four corners of Ireland in Baile an Fheirtéaraigh this February. Performers include Norways award winning Sigrid Moldestad on Hardanger, Sweden’s Joahn Hedin on Nykelparpa, an instrument rarely seen or heard in these parts, Gallician piper Anxo Lorenzo and Estonian box player Tarmo Noormaa. These visiting artists will give additional colour and flair to the annual fantastic lineup at Scoil Cheoil an Earraigh and will give people the opportunity to experience the breadth of traditions and talent of our European neighbours. These events have been made possible with the support of the Irish Presidency of the EU, the Arts Council and the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht. Anxo Lorenzo Gallician Piper
