What is Scoil Cheoil an Earraigh?

A 5 day Traditional Music School paying particular attention to the music, style and songs local to the Corca Dhuibhne peninsula in Co. Kerry, Ireland. The next Scoil Cheoil will run from Wednesday the 17th to Sunday the 21st of February, 2010.

Young and old from thefour corners of Ireland come together to enjoy our culture and our music. Scoil Cheoil an Earraigh assists in the resurgence of our music and inspires those who wish to learn it. It provides the opportunity to people from all over the country and beyond to experience the breadth of out traditional music, to listen to it and take it away with them.

Recognition is always given at our events of the generations who have gone before, who handed down the traditions to us and who remain an inspiration to those taking their first steps along their musical paths.

Local, national and international musicians come to entertain and inspire us with their music. Learners and their freinds from far and wide attend the classes for the various instruments, for singing or dancing and to to taste of our living tradition while attending the Scoil.
